Morning Drop Off
Globe School and Avenue A are very busy in the mornings. Buses are struggling to get down the street and turn into our lot due to the number of families attempting to drop students off in the front of the building. All parents dropping off students by car pull through to the back of the building. Parent drop off is at door 4. Do not stop on Avenue A to let students out of the car. The front door is for students who walk to school, students arriving by bus, and for students with Special Education Needs requiring assistance. All other students should stay in their cars and pull through to the back of the lot. We have had numerous complaints from the neighbors, as cars are damaging the sidewalks, blocking their driveways, and litter in their yards. Please help us improve our relationship with our neighbors by following this procedure. Breakfast is served promptly at 9am. It is imperative that students arrive with enough time to eat in the morning.
Early Dismissals/Afternoon Parent Pickup
We understand that there are situations in which families may need to pick their children up early for appointments and such prior to the end of the school day. We ask that all early dismissals happen prior to 2:4t5 as we need to prepare for the end of day dismissals. Parents picking their students up at 3:00 will be directed around to the correct door for parent pick up:
- Kindergarten: Mrs. Daron door 2, Mrs. Kelly door 12, Mrs. Ledin door 13
- Grade 1: All grade 1 dismisses from the alcove door 8 or door 9
- Grade 2: All grade 2 dismisses from door 6
- Grade 3: All grade 3 dismisses from door 4
- Grade 4: All grade 4 dismisses from door 3
- Grade 5: All grade 5 dismisses from door 2
Students will remain outside their dismissal doors until 3:30 at which time they will be brought back inside and taken to the Kids Club. Only Special education students and bus students are dismissed from the front door during the afternoon. If your student has been placed in Kids Club that means you are late and you must go to door 9 ring the bell and sign your child out of Kids Club.
District Weather Policy
Students will go outside for recess following the district policy: windchill of 34 degrees or higher. It is crucial that students be dressed for these temperatures. If your child is in need of support with regards to weather permissible clothing please reach out to our Title I Social Worker Ms. Julie @
[email protected].
