To Students and Families,

I am truly excited to begin my first full year as principal of Woonsocket High School and Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center. I am hopeful to build on our accomplishments of last year and move forward to continue the work to become the best we can be.

We move forward with a clear focus on building student agency by providing high quality instructional opportunities. Our Model of Instruction includes Social Emotional Learning, Academic Teaming, and Standard-Based Instruction utilizing reliable and valid assessments. This whole child approach will cultivate a community of learners and prepare our students for the challenges they will face in the real world. 

Woonsocket High School and Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center will be entering our second year of Comprehensive School Improvement supported by the Rhode Island Department of Education. We are also supported by other outside consultants including: the Teaching and Learning Alliance, New England Base Camp and Instructional Empowerment. These partnerships are vital to our success and implementation of our School Improvement Plan and District Strategic Plan. 

This year marks year one of the accreditation process. We will be working with the New England School and Colleges NEASC organization to guide and support us in this journey. NEASC Accreditation is a ten year cycle which was recently interrupted by the COVID 19 Pandemic. Woonsocket High School and Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center will engage in training and implementation of the Self Assessment Process beginning this fall.
