Multi Tiered System of Support/ Response to Intervention is a process used by schools/educators/teachers to help students who are struggling with a skill. Interventions are used with a student to help them to succeed in a classroom. Benchmark testing along with other measures are used to identify if students need assistance in academic areas, social/emotional skills , or behavioral interventions. The teacher/staff involved with the student will meet with the MTSS team to determine interventions that are needed and how to progress monitor these. If the student does not respond to the initial interventions, more focused interventions will be used to assist the student to close the gap in the area of need.
