Instructional Time & Professional Responsibility
Our Daily Instructional Framework is designed to ensure that every instructional minute is purposeful, standards-aligned, and centered on meaningful student learning. Rhode Island law requires a minimum of 330 instructional minutes per day. To support this expectation, the district has established required instructional minutes guidance that prioritizes strong core instruction while allowing teachers to use professional judgment across content areas based on student needs and learning goals.
At the middle and high school levels, the expectation is consistent bell-to-bell instruction in every class to ensure all required instructional minutes are fully utilized for learning.
Ensuring instructional minutes are meaningful, engaging, and aligned to our instructional framework is the professional responsibility of every educator.
