Our Certified School Nurse-Teachers initiate positive student responses to normal growth and development through health education, screenings, consultations and referrals with other health and community members. We promote health and safety including a healthy environment, assess and manage actual and potential health problems, provide plans of care to build strong student and family capabilities for self-management skills.

The Certified School Nurse-Teacher is a professional registered nurse meeting the certification requirements of the Rhode Island Department of Education and the licensure requirements of the Rhode Island Department of Health. As part of the education team, Certified School Nurse-Teachers (CSNT) work under the direction of the principal of the school and the administration in compliance with the district policy.
