PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

WACTC has adopted the Cisco Networking curriculum, an industry program with curriculum and tests provided on the Internet by Cisco Systems, the largest manufacturer of routing equipment in the world.  This program prepares students to take the C.C.N.A. (Cisco Certified Network Associate) exam.  The network's business partner is Unicom, who will be moving their headquarters from Providence to Woonsocket.

FACILITIES:
The lab is equipped with computers for each student and routers so that students may have hands-on experience in setting up their own networks and programming routers.  Additional software and hardware is being purchased to supplement the program.  Up-to-date diagnostic tools are available.

CURRENT HAPPENINGS:
The networking program is in it's first year of offering.  Students are working on the latest technology.  Our business partners have provided the class with state-of-the-art equipment and supplies.

FUTURE HAPPENINGS:
In addition to the networking curriculum, the program will be expanding to include computer repair, which would run alongside of the networking course.  Industry representatives are brought in for presentations and consultations with students.
