PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Careers in the health and human services fields are booming.  The health care industry is the single largest employer in the state of Rhode Island. Students in the Health Occupations program explore various career paths while at the same time learning anatomy, physiology, CPR and first aid, medical terminology and abbreviations, and patient care.


 
FACILITIES:
Structured field study is provided in nursing homes, hospitals, and medical offices in the community which transitions to paid and unpaid opportunities. 

CURRENT HAPPENINGS:
Employer Recruitment, work readiness program, advisory board, visits and classes in hospitals and nursing homes.

FUTURE HAPPENINGS:
Skills USA-VICA contests, career exploration, hospital tours, career fairs, job shadowing.
