PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Culinary Arts  program prepares students for positions leading to viable careers in the food and food service industry.  Students cover a variety of topics including:
Food Service Safety & Sanitation, Nutrition, Use and Operation of Kitchen Tools and Equipment, Knife Skills, Food Preparation  Methods, Exploration of Cuisines of the World, Heritage & Food, Special Functions (Fundraising & Catering), Baking, Restaurant & Menu Design.

FACILITIES:
The Culinary Arts program hosts a complete and modern facility with the latest food service industry equipment. 

CURRENT HAPPENINGS:
The Culinary Arts lab provides students with experience in an actual restaurant kitchen setting.    Students will plan, prepare and serve a variety of foods.  Class time is divided between theory and hands-on application of information learned in theory.  Students will participate in numerous fund-raising and catering opportunities, designed to give the student authentic foodservice experience. Students will experience the local foodservice industry through numerous field trips throughout the school year.

FUTURE HAPPENINGS:
The program will continue to accept varied and interesting culinary assignments for the students to work on.

CERTIFICATE OPTIONS: 
The  program is currently negotiating proposals to be certified
