PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) introduces students to the broad career opportunities in today's digital workforce and, in the process, equips them with relevant personal, analytical, technical and communication skills they need to thrive. A certified and accredited member of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), the (AOIT) operates as a college prep "school within a school" and is part of a network of over 90 high tech high schools nation wide. .

FACILITIES:
The Academy of Information Technology lab is a spacious and well-lit room complete with 25 Pentium IV – DVD+R class student work stations. All twenty five systems are networked through Windows NT and are completely Internet ready.

CURRENT HAPPENINGS:
Students in the Academy of Information Technologies program design, develop, and maintain, both individual and school-wide web sites reaching a broad audience outside the four walls of the classroom. Integrated MS Office/Internet research projects are undertaken and applications including Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks as well as Pinnacle Movie Studios have been successfully completed.

FUTURE HAPPENINGS:
The computer lab systems are all updated with Windows XP. Students further develop their own portfolios and professional development program. Interactive "New Media" assignments utilizing digital video and still cameras have been warmly received by pupils.
