On February 11, 2000, two students from the Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center's Automotive Technology Department attended the state finals which were held at the New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, Rhode Island.  Samuel Arocho and Jason Picard worked as a team to fix or diagnose several vehicles that were deliberately bugged with problems.  They were competing against nine other teams from around the state.
