PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

The demand for good technicians is increasing every day.  There are more automobiles on the road now than ever before.  The industry is 60,000 technicians short every year.  The Automotive Technology program trains students with state-of-the-art hand tools and test equipment.  After completing the Automotive Technology program, students will have knowledge to work right away as entry-level technicians.

FACILITIES:
A well-equipped, well ventilated, modern facility includes 10 service bays, 5 lifts, an alignment machine, 2 Snap-on Scan Tools, 2 computer analyzers, and state-of-the-art hand tools and test equipment.

CURRENT HAPPENINGS:
A 1999 Ford Explorer was donated to the program for a team placing first in the Ford/AAA Trouble Shooting Contest.  The shop takes in vehicles from teachers, students, parents, and the general public.  Students get experience on live, hands-on projects as well as lab and bench work to expand their capabilities.

FUTURE HAPPENINGS:
Skills USA-VICA competitions, Ocean State Auto Tech competitions, Ford/AAA Trouble Shooting contest.
