There are four nationally certified academy
programs at the Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center. Two
are recognized by the National Academy Foundation.
These include the Academy, Travel/Tourism, and the Academy of
Information Technology. The two remaining academies are certified by industry
giants COX Communications, and CISCO
Networking. All academy programs; (a school within a school)
feature tightly integrated curriculums that combine the student's technical
aspirations and traditional academic pursuits. All academies actively
seek summer paid internships in the student's field of study, allowing
real world, hands-on experience.
