The academic services offered students at WACTC are a careful collaboration between regional schools, guidance departments, and teaching staffs. Consideration is given to each student's career and/or technical program and their future goals, whether they be immediate employment goals upon graduation, or furthering their post secondary education. We remain mindful of the fact that career goals can and will change. Every effort is made to retain flexibility in academic scheduling and provide appropriate companion courses for students.
Many of the programs at WACTC have college credit articulation agreements in place. This enables incoming college freshmen,  (WACTC Graduates) between three and fifteen undergraduate credits upon arrival to their college or university the following September.  These agreements also allow our students to receive advanced placement in post-secondary institutions thereby saving the student a portion of tuition costs.

Student schedules and course selections are completed on an individual basis by our guidance staff. WACTC is very aware of the importance of these selections and of the concerns that today's employers have placed on a well-rounded educational experience.  We endorse the overall development of the individual and the preparedness of the students to become productive members of toady's society, team workers, problem solvers, and life long learners.

Resource needs are met at WACTC through the services of three resource teachers. It is our
mission to enable all students to achieve. Resource teachers are available to provide
academic support to any student enrolled at WACTC.

Resource is provided using the inclusion model. In general students’ needs are met in the classroom. Resource teachers are available to work with the academic/career teachers.
Services include working individually with students or in small groups. The amount of time spent in a classroom is based on the needs of the students or at the request of the
classroom teacher.

Services are implemented as needed in a comfortable, supportive environment. Working in the resource room may be necessary when students need increased support with a particular subject or assignment. Students may complete tests and assignments in the resource room as outlined in the Individualized Education Plan or as determined by the resource teachers in collaboration with the academic/career teachers.

Computers are available for writing assignments and research, as well as a small library
containing popular novels and reference materials. Students are encouraged to seek reading
material recommendations from the resource/subject teachers and to sign out materials as
needed.

Support is offered to all students in all areas at WACTC. It is our philosophy that
diverse learning needs are best met through daily collaboration between students, teachers
and administrators. We strive to meet the individual needs of students to promote academic
and technical proficiency.
