WMS Library Media Center Policies

Borrowing Policies:
The loan period for WMS students is four (4) weeks. Students may have two (2) books checked out at a time. Books may be renewed for an additional four (4) provided no other student is waiting for the items.
Students are expected to return books to the Library Media Center on time. This ensures that our books remain available to all members of our learning community. Books may be returned directly to the Library Media Center or dropped off in the return box located at the Sixth-Seventh Grade Office. Overdue fines of $.05 per day, with a limit of $1.00 per book, will be charged to students. Students with overdue books may not check out any more books. Any student who loses or damages a book must replace or pay for the book.
Computer Use in the library:
The computers in the Reference Area of the WMS Library Media Center may be used to complete school assignments. Students must receive permission from their teacher and a library media specialist before using the computers. Students are expected to follow the rules and regulations contained in the Computer Usage Form signed by them and their parent/guardian at the beginning of the school year. Failure to follow the guidelines for computer use will result in the loss of all computer privileges.
Hours:
The WMS Library Media Center is open to students, faculty, and staff Monday through Friday from 7:55 a.m. until 2:15 p.m.
Student Behavior:
Students are expected to come to the WMS Library Media Center with a purpose. Students who come in during homeroom enrichment period must have all of the following: a corridor pass, a laminated Library Media Center pass, and a student picture ID. Students may not bring food or beverages into the library. Students should plan to work quietly while there. Any student who does not comply with the rules of the Library Media Center will be sent back to his or her homeroom.
