Instruction begins at 8:45am.  School dismissal is 2:45pm, at which time students are walked to the top of the stairs, Please make sure to bring a photo ID when you or your designee picks up your child from school. This requirement is a safety precaution and we appreciate your continued support.

Parent Parking Lot
For everyone’s convenience, we have a parent parking lot.  If you are dropping off your child, please pull into a parking spot, allowing others to pull in and out as neededPlease do not allow your child to exit your car as you pass through the middle of the lot; this is not safe practice for the children!  Remind your child to use the crosswalk connecting the lot with the schoolyard.  Let’s keep it safe for everyone!   We all thank you for your consideration.

School Improvement Team
A School Improvement Team (SIT) consists of teachers, parents, the principal, and community members.  The purpose of the team is to lead and/or guide the school through necessary changes and educational initiatives.  Join us on September 15, at 3:00pm to make your voice heard!

Lunch With A Loved One
The date for ‘Lunch with a Loved One’ is Wednesday, September 21st. When ‘Lunch with a Loved One’ is scheduled, parents are invited to join their child during their regularly scheduled lunchtime. Please check with your child as to what time he/she eats lunch daily. Also, please be advised, if you plan to order a school lunch, the cost is $3.00 for adults.

Student Attendance Matters!
Research shows that children who attend school most of the time do better on state tests than those kids who are absent more often.  Being late for school matters too!  A student who is 10 minutes late every day will miss 30 hours of instruction during the year!  Your child’s success in school depends on having a solid educational background – one that can only be gained through regular school attendance.

Parent/Teacher Organization
Our first PTO meeting will be held on September 14, from 3:00-4:00 at Gov. Pothier School.  Please join us to see how you can make a difference in your child’s learning community.
